Commutatores translationis universales seriei LW28 praecipue apti sunt circuitibus electricis cum tensione operativa nominali AC sicca 50Hz 440V et infra, tensione DC 240V et infra, et currente nominali usque ad 160A. Adhibentur ad raram connexionem vel disiunctionem manualem circuituum ad fines moderandi vel conversionis, necnon ad directum imperium motorum asynchronorum triphasium et ad usus imperii, moderandi et mensurandi circuitus. Productum late adhibetur ut commutatores moderandi circuitus, commutatores instrumentorum probationis, commutatores moderandi motores, commutatores moderandi principales, et commutatores commutationis pro machinis electricis soldadurae.
